Capstone Project Data Collection

Developing your Capstone Project Research Methodology on Gender in White Collar Crime

Before you begin go to :http://libguides.usc.edu/writingguide/methodology

Your methodology should contain the following parts or answer the following questions:

  1. What type of study are you proposing?
  2. What variables will you be measuring?
  3. What is your hypothesis? (An hypothesis is a specific statement of prediction. It describes in concrete (rather than theoretical) terms what you expect will happen in your study. Not all studies have hypotheses. Sometimes a study is designed to be exploratory (see inductive research). There is no formal hypothesis, and perhaps the purpose of the study is to explore some area more thoroughly in order to develop some specific hypothesis or prediction that can be tested in future research. A single study may have one or many hypotheses.)
  4. What types of data will you be using?
  5. What are the components of your study (research questions, Units of analysis)

Submit a document which outlines your proposed methodology. You can use the responses from the questions presented above as a template for how your document will be organized.
