Choose a local SME (Small Medium Enterprise)

Assessment 1: Presentation
Student Activities:
1) Choose a local SME (Small Medium Enterprise) which you are familiar with, for
example, you have been a customer, you work or worked there before, or family
business. Examples of SME are coffee shop, restaurant, IT/fashion design / tattoo
design, hair salon, letting agency, etc or a SME agreed with your module tutor.
Contact details of the SME will be required by your module tutor.
2) Identify a business related issue or problem in your chosen SME which you are
interested to improve or find a solution to resolve it.
Example 1: You want to improve financial performance for your chosen coffee shop,
for example, through improved customer satisfaction. So you design a research and
collect primary data from staff and customers of the coffee shop to find out the
impacts of customer satisfaction on financial performance, and what can be
improved.

communication of the hair salon and what can be improved.
3) Present the business related research project of your chosen local SME via a
Powerpoint presentation with notes pages which should contain relevant details as
