Measuring COPE Inventory Results

The measure of the results in the cope inventory as a form of dealing with stress depends on various aspects. According to Carver, Weintraub, & Scheier, (1989), the multidimensional coping strategy was used to investigate many ways on how people respond to stress.

For instance, problem-focused coping is the strategy used by an individual by directly focusing on the problem at hand with the main aim of altering the stress, while emotion-focused coping focuses on the reducing the emotional problems associated with the problem at hand.

In the work of Blount, et al., (2008), there are several outlined coping strategies that can help stress patients of different characteristics. For instance, The Adolescent Coping Orientation for Problem experiences (A-COPE) focuses on the measure of the adolescent coping characteristics and it elaborates how they can manage their stress levels. It is an important tool used to determine the coping patterns of adolescents with substance abuse history. It has also been used in the patients with pediatric problems.

Then the Coping Response Inventory—Youth Form (CRI-Y) is another strategy that mainly focuses on the cognitive and behavioral responses used to manage a problem that occurred in the recent times or in a hectic times. Likewise, this approach is most suitable to the young adults with psychiatric problems or other medical disorders.

According to Ostdik, (2017), the proper management of stress depends on the understanding of the main cause of the problem and then from there it becomes much easier for one to establish possible remedies. There have been several ways through which the stress could be managed and according to Cohen,( n.d.), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) is also one of the commonly utilized psychological tool for determining stress.
