Describe the challenges in collecting data and making observations in the methane study on Mars.
- The observed seasonal variability of CH4 is incompatible with the standard models for the physics and chemistry of the martian atmosphere.
- The observed bursts of CH4 demand thus far unknown sources and/or modulation mechanisms on Mars.
