Visualisation Poster and Statement
Visualisation Poster and Statement
Overview
The purpose of this assignment is for you to engage with visualisation which is an important design tool to communicate your reframed problem statement. You will need to analyse and evaluate information and data, synthesise what you have learnt from your background research (Assessment 1) and creatively demonstrate your view of the inherent underlying problem embedded within the design challenge. Your visualisation is your articulation of the “blocker (framed problem)” which makes solving the problem difficult. Poster presentations develop your ability to communicate perceptively creatively and concisely. The poster is used to gain feedback from your design team and the client so that you and your team can settle on a way forward within the design process.
Assessment details
Assessment type: Visualisation Poster and Statement
****** NOTE: there are two parts to this assessment task.
Length: 1,000 words
Note: the words inside your poster, which transports the viewer as to how your reframed problem is creatively developed should be totaling towards 500 words. The remaining 500 is for your written statement with 200 words approximately to the reframed problem statement and the remaining words dedicated to justification/clarification of poster content.
Due date: End of Week 7, Saturday 9 September 2023 11:59
Weighting: 20%
You are required to create a poster + statement which visually articulates your reframed problem statement which emerges from your background research (Assessment 1) undertaken during the Engage and Evaluate phases of the design process (Assessment 1). The visualisation communicates your interpretation of the problem needing to be addressed during the ideation stage of the innovation process. Note: It is imperative to develop a reframed problem statement that identifies the intrinsic nature of the design challenge. If the reframed problem statement is not on target then ideation will not lead to desirable solutions.
